Here is what we collect and what we do with it, in plain words.
What we collect
When you request a visit
- Your name, phone number, and ZIP code
- Your email, if you give it
- The name of the person the visit is for, and how you know them, if it is for someone else
- What is going on, in your own words
- Your best days and times, and how you heard about us
When you apply to be a Helper
- Your name, phone number, and email
- A little about yourself and when you are available
- Whether you have a car and whether you are a student
Why we ask
We use it to call you back and set up a time. That is all.
Who sees it
Only Hometown Tech Help staff. We never sell your information and we never share it.
How long we keep it
Visit requests are kept for 2 years. Helper applications are kept for 1 year. Screenshots sent to our check address are deleted after 90 days.
Deleting your information
Email hello@hometowntechhelp.com and ask. We will delete what we have about you.
Help Center searches
We keep a record of what people search for in the Help Center, so we can improve our articles. The record has no names or addresses.
