Our promise to you
Feeling unsure about letting someone in is reasonable. Here is how we earn your trust.
Our promise
We will never ask to connect to your computer, never ask for a code, and never ask you to buy gift cards.
If someone says they're from Hometown Tech Help and asks for any of those, hang up and call our office. It isn't us.
Four promises we keep
In person only
We never connect to your computer from far away. That is exactly what scammers do, so we will not do it, even if you ask. Your Helper sits next to you and you do the tapping.
Background-checked Helpers
Every Helper has their identity checked, a criminal and sex-offender background check, and their references called. Each one meets us in person for an interview and signs an agreement about how to handle your information. We check again every year.
Your accounts stay yours
Helpers never handle your money. They never log in to your accounts from their own device, and they never keep your passwords. Every account they touch is written on your visit report, with what was done.
Both sides can say no
You can end a visit at any time. A Helper can also leave if they feel unsafe. If that happens, you pay nothing.
Call us. A real person answers.
